Katie grew up just outside of Buffalo and spent seven years working on a farm in upstate New York. (Yes, she’s still a Bills fan). True country girl at heart, she’s also a lover of big cities {and more importantly, warm weather} and landed in Miami in 2005 for a year of school at FIU, taking up a permanent life in the sunshine state after graduating college in 2007.

She is an introvert that loves talking in front of big crowds. Can be seen drinking at least 2 La Croix’s a day (mango or tangerine are her favorites) between downing 100+ ounces of water, and at least 1 cold brew coffee (yes, she always knows where the nearest bathroom is located). Graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses course in April of 2018, and thrives off of tight deadlines (perhaps it’s the years of procrastination experience from college?) A sarcasm enthusiast who is obsessed with listening to podcasts and audio books in the car. Current fave? Podcast: NPR’s How I Built This. Book: Leaders Eat Last from Simon Sinek.

Her love for design started at a young age. Her love for interior design could be seen often by surprising her parents, rearranging the entire contents of their home while they were at work. Her love for fashion design could be seen in the dozens of sketchbooks she spent hours working in, illustrating design after design that she would attempt to bring to life by tearing clothing apart and then sewing it back together by hand.

Overall, it’s the thrill of the hunt keeps her going, as she is always on the lookout for the next great piece to add to the collection. As a recovering shopping addict, she often she can be found wearing clothing that is inspired by the newest pieces in the collection, or perhaps it’s that she’s designing the newest pieces based on the latest fashion trends that she’s donning (we’ll never really know what came first, the chicken or the egg).

With a passion for reducing her carbon footprint and removing toxins from her life and the environment, she can usually be found carrying around her reusable grocery bags, refusing plastic bags and straws, and sharing her love for Young Living essential oils with anyone who will listen.

The way to her heart is absolutely through food, and she can be won over with gluten free: cheeseburgers, tacos, pizza, cupcakes, cookies, anything from the Salty Donut, or a Blanton’s old fashioned. She loves to spend her free time hanging out with her sweet babies Sawyer (the original @babysawyerjames, yes, he has his own Instagram) and Charlie (#babycharliearcher), her puppies Riley and Stella, and her amazing husband, Jovan.
